Bona Nova is a project of digitization of the Bona typeface, designed in 1971 by the creator of Polish banknotes, Mr. Andrzej Heidrich. In addition to giving it a digital form, the aim of the project is to expand the existing set of characters, develop small caps, alternative characters and many typesetting functions. In cooperation with the author, two new varieties were created - Regular and Bold - to give Bona the form of a classic triad. The finished family is distributed under an open license. The whole is complemented by six display varieties - Bona Sforza. In 2019, Bona Nova was expanded with new scripts: Cyrillic, IPA, Greek, Vietnamese, Arabic and Hebrew (2020).
